The Indian women’s hockey team got another big win with a 5-0 victory over Scotland in Stellenbosch, South Africa. Both teams tried to get a score in the first two half but failed due to strong defense of both the teams. The goal was not in the court of any team till the end of two halves.
The third quarter started with full determination to get the hit and the opening shot came from Rani in the 37th minute as a result of the penalty corner conversion and raised the score to 2-0 with another penalty corner conversion in 42nd minute. Deepika made it 3-0 through a field goal in the 45th minute.
In the last quarter the players of team Scotland were trying hard to get any score to equalize the burden but failed to do so. While India’s score was raised again by Anuradha Devi Thokchom scoring the fourth goal in the 54th minute. Gurjit Kaur registered the fifth from a penalty corner in the 59th minute.
This made another big win by the Indian eves on the land of South Africa. The tour started with India defeating South Africa 1-0 in Cape Town on February 20. India then drew 2-2 against the hosts. The visiting team then defeated the junior South African team 3-1 and then 8-0 in two back-to-back matches before taking on Scotland.
