Indian Hockey in Olympics has a great history, India is the only country who has won 8 Gold Medals. India is 6 times continues winner from 1928 Amsterdam Games to 1956 Melbourne Olympics and other two gold medals in 1964 (Tokyo) and 1980 (Moscow) Olympics. But that history is history now and India never win any medal in Olympics Field Hockey after that.
Beijing Olympics 2008 was the worst even in which India was not even able to play because we lost qualifying match against Great Britain in March 2008.
But this time India has a golden chance because our team is performing better and we may get direct entry to London Olympic 2012 if Indian Hockey win Gold in Asian Games, otherwise we have to pass through painful qualifying tournaments again.
