FIH announced The list of qualified teams of Women Hockey World Cup 2018. Check out their performance record and there rank here:
1. Netherlands: No. 1 Team Netherland has the most impressive World Cup history. Netherlands won first at the first FIH Women’s World Cup in 1974 and they had a successful record of three consecutive wins in 1983, 1986 and 1990; and as winners of the most recent Hockey World League Semi-Final.
2. England: Host team England stands at no. 2 in World Rank. They are still on a high rank after winning Olympic gold for Great Britain back at Rio 2016. They won a bronze medal at the 2010 World Cup and in 2015 won European Champions award.
3. Argentina: World’s No. 3 Women Hockey Team Argentina has an illustrious history at World Cup events. The most recent and glorious victory is in Rosario in 2010, when Luciana Aymar was the star of the show.
4. New Zealand: 2018 will be New Zealand’s eighth appearance at the World Cup.They stand at the fourth place and would hit the ground to break this no. Four tags.
5. Australia: Australia’s history at the World Cup is a bright one. Two times champions, albeit back in 1994 and 1998; three times runners-up, including in the Hague in 2014; and a third place finish in 1983 is not a bad return.
6. Germany: Germany stands at the no. 6 and planned progress by making slow and steady plans. The team has won EuroHockey gold in 2013, third in the 2015 Hockey World League Final and bronze at the Rio Olympics.
7. USA: The USA won the Champions Challenge in Glasgow in 2014. Upcoming London World cup 2018 will be USA’s ninth Appearance in the World Cup. They would hit the ground with full of energy and to improve their world rank.
8. China: China has been at every World Cup since but the team’s record is not great, Their first appearance at a World Cup came was in 1990.
9. Korea: Korea was good enough to reach the semi-finals and has been to the past eight World Cup competitions.
10. India: Ranked 10th in the World and qualified for the 2016 Olympic Games on the back of a strong Hockey World League campaign in 2015. They are making steady progress and earned a place in London World Cup after their victory over Asia rivals in Women Asia Cup. In first match opener India will face Host team England.
11. Spain: With a fifth-place finish at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and a convincing first place at Hockey World League Round Two in Valencia Spain earned a place in upcoming Women World Cup 2018.
12. Japan: Japan first appeared in a World Cup in 1978 and now the national team will be looking for a good performance in London.
13. Belgium: Belgium team working with the squad to ensure they are physically fit enough to perform at the highest tempo for the duration of the game under the guidance of their head coach Niels Thiessen.
14. South Africa: South Africa booked their place in the World Cup due to their strong finish in the HWL Semi-Finals on home turf. They will be keen to prove their credentials and move back up the rankings.
15. Italy: In the Hockey World Italy is a lower ranked team but one of the shining example of hard workers.
16. Ireland: Ireland can now look forward to make their strong presence in Women World Cup 2018 with their best performance and have more than enough talent.
