On the occasion of 9 th successive year of the India Hockey Festival, Team Coorg beat the UTSC Oman by 2-1 and won the Republic Day Cup on the 67th Republic Day.
The festival was arranged by Team Coorg and Friends of Naqvi Group. Three teams participated in the tournament UTSC Oman, Beatrice XI and Coorg.
The opening match was played between UTSC Oman and Beatrice XI. UTSC Oman defeated Beatrice XI with just one goal and the final score was 1-0. The competition was very tough between both the teams but finally Oman led it out.
Final match was played between Coorg beat and UTSC Oman where Oman’s got defeated by Coorg’s.H E Indra Mani Pandey, the Indian Ambassador to Oman, gave away the prizes in the presence of H E Sheikh Mahfoodh al Juma, the Oman Hockey Association Chairman.
