Indian Hockey Team able to get the best out of the rest today by Beating South Korea by 1-0. By this win Indian hockey team is back in Asian Games Hockey Medal Telly by winning Bronze Medal (Third Position).
Last time when Indian hockey team win any medal in Asian Games was 2002 Busan, South Korea Asian Games. Tushar Khandekar was the man who scored the goal on 39th minute in second half.

Indian women hockey team today lose to Japan and failed to win Bronze for India. They finished 4th in the Asian Games 2010.
Both Teams failed to hit eachothers goal net in regular 70 mins but Japan’s Manabe got success to convert penalty corner into goal in 78th min penalty corner here at Aoti Hockey Field.

Indian Team’s Performance in league Matches goes into wain and dreams to win Gold in Asian Games crashes out when they lost to Malaysia in semi-final match.  Malaysian team has given a tough time to Indian Team today when  both teams were tied 3-3 at the end of regulation time and Indian Team missed goal chances in extra time.
This is a sorry state for me to write that today our powerful drag-flick Sandeep Singh’s magic did not work. India fail to convert penalty corner changes in very last minute of the match, whereas they convert only 2 out of 4 changes which was not enough and Malaysia team converted 3 out of 4 changes in penalty corner.
With this loss the dreams of getting direct entry to 2012 London Olympics also broken down and now they have to pass through pain-full qualifying tournaments and indian hockey lovers can forget that last time India failed to qualify in 2008 Olympics when they lost to Great Britain in March 2008  in one of that qualifying tournament.
Its really hard to digest this defeat because  Malaysia is ranked 15th team where as India is Ranked 9th in FIH MEN’S WORLD RANKINGS.
Anyways Gold medal and 2012 Direct Ticket is gone now… but India has to Play with South Korea for bronze on Thursday, 25th Nov. which was defeated by Pakistan today by penalty shoot-out after both sides were 1-1 at the end of regular as well as in extra-time.
Its Painful again to understand that South Korea is considerably much better team than India and this may force Indian team to came back without any medal.
Let’s Hope for the best from the rest now.. let both men and women get atleast Bronze for India in Asian Games.

It sounds great to write about Indian Men’ Hockey Team that they have won all of their league matches. Indian team performance up to now can be considered as very good however there are many areas which need improvement.

But one man who wins heart this time is Sandeep Singh. He has done his duty very well by hitting 10 goals up to now in this tournament.

In the very first match with Hong Kong he hit the rivals net 2 times, however all other 5 goals were field goals by Bharat Chikara, Sarvanjit Singh, Tushar Khandker, Arjun Halappa, Shivendra Singh and made India a fine start in the tournament.

Next Match was with Bangladesh and this time Sandeep Singh made a Hetrick by converting 4 penalty corners into goals, where as Tushar Khandekar slotted two goals and Shivendra Singh, Rajpal Singh and Dharamvir Singh scored 1 Goal each.

Now its the turn of Pakistan where Sandeep singh started campaign with his first goal in very 2nd min of the game and then in second half when the game was going looking difficult for both teams to win. third field goal was by Dharmvir Singh on 16th min.

And then in last league match game with japan, he is the only player who saved the game, India’s Team Performance in this match was not of that mark but Sandeep Singh saved the match by converting 2 penalty corners into goals on 38th and 62nd minute. the only field goal was by Captain Rajpal Singh in the 31st min.

Sandeep Singh is leading team in terms of no. of goals up to now:

• Sandeep Singh – 10 Goals (2 in match with Hong Kong, 4 in match with Bangladesh, 2 in Pakistan match, 2 in match with Japan).
• Tushar Khandker – 3 Goals (1 in  match with Hong Kong, 2 in match with Bangladesh).
• Captain Rajpal Singh – 2 Goals (1 in match with Bangladesh, 1 in match with Japan).
• Dharamvir Singh – 2 Goals (1 in match with Bangladesh, 1  in Pakistan Match).
• Shivendra Singh – 2 Goals (1 in  match with Hong Kong, 1 in match with Bangladesh).
• Bharat Chikara – 1 Goal in  match with Hong Kong.
• Sarvanjit Singh – 1 Goal in  match with Hong Kong.
• Arjun Halappa – 1  Goal in  match with Hong Kong.

Game starts with a Penalty Corner in very second minute when Sandeep Singh The Star of this game has not done any mistake by converting it into goal and India got lead by that goal in just 2nd min. of the match.

But Pakistan was also in no mood to lose this match so just 3 mins after that Rahel Bhatt returned the goal and both teams were 1-1 with 5 mins of the game.

Now it was the turn of India when Dharmvir Singh done no mistake on 16th min. and put ball in Pakistani Goal as a field Goal.

During whole first half India has played well by putting pressure on pakistan.  Stadium was partially filled but the major support by the audience was for Pakistan because local public was supporting Pakistan.

In first half India was leading by 2-1.
Second half started a little slow but Pakistan got another success when about 28 mins were remaining to finish up of game. Shakeel Abbasi was the man from Pakistan who had made a field goal this time.

But game was not over yet. India got another Penalty Corner and Sandeep Singh is the man again,  dragged the ball in Pakistani net… Wow.. great job by 26year old Sandeep Singh, he is one of the top three drag flikers in the world. So India was leading by 3-2 but Pakistan is trying hard to get back into the game.  Pakistan got one Penalty Corner when about 13 mins. were remaining but our goal keeper Bharat Chetri saved it very nicely.

Goals By:

• Sandeep Singh –  2nd min through Penalty Corner.
• Dharmvir Singh– 16th min. Field Goal.
• Sandeep Singh – through Penalty Corner in second half.

India is already in Semi-Finals but Indian Hockey Team has to play their last round robin league match on 21st with Japan.  But now the eyes are on semi-final matches which are starting from 23rd of Nov.

This is important to note that India has already defeated Pakistan in their last two games and this time again Indian Hockey Team is already in winning momentum by beating Bangladesh 9-0 and Hong Kong 7-0.
But Pakistan has already Showed their Power by beating Hong Kong 12-0, so we cannot ignore Pakistani team’s high morale this time.
This time Sohail Abbas is back in their team.
India has to win this match to book a semi-final place, where as both are team are looking for Gold in Asian Games which will give Direct entry to  London Olympic 2012.

“If we play as well as we are capable off, we will give the Indians a good response. We have the team to win the tournament. This tournament is very important for us and we are prepared for it”.

We are not nervous at all. India is a good team but we have planned well for this match. The morale is high after our two wins here.

“They look a different side with Sohail around. We have also done well, but it will be a tough contest. The wins over Pakistan this year had inspired his team, but warned against complacency.

It’s a new game and both teams start with a 0-0 scoreline. The side which takes the pressure better will win.”

“I want to continue with India, but my priority now is to ensure the team does well here.”

Sandeep Singh Saved match with Japan by converting 2 penalty corners into goals on 38th and 62nd minute. India defeated Japan 3-2 and registered 4th continnues win in Asian Games. One Field goal was from Captain Rajpal Singh in the 31st min.
India will play with Malaysia on semi-final on Nov. 23.
India win this match but coach Jose Brasa was not too happy with the performance check the quote give by the team coach after that match.

I am not happy. The boys created tension for us. We won anyway and that’s all that matters. But we have to improve. We topped the pool. It makes no difference who we play against in the semis

19th Nov.– Women Team Put Down Thailand 13-0

Indian Women Team while struggling for keeping themselves in Medal Hunt Thrashed Thailand by 13-0, After two continue Defeats from Japan and South Korea Indian eves done a good job again by thumping 13-0 victory over minnows Thailand in the Asian Games women’s hockey round robin league.

India got 11 penalty corners from which they successfully converted 4 rest 9 were field goals.
This Win helps them to keep themselves in Medal Hunt, but they are already out for Finals they can only struggle more for Bronze.

17 Nov. – Men’s Team Thrashed Bangladesh 9-0

Indian Hockey Team Continue there winning Momentum, blank Bangladesh 9-0.
This time Sandeep Singh made a Hetrick by converted four penalty corners into goals, where as Tushar Khandekar slotted two goals and Shivendra Singh, Raj Pal Singh and Dharamvir Singh scored 1 Goal each.  Whole Team Played well yet again.
Indian Team has scored 16 goals in First 2 Games but none of the team able to score any Goal against India yet.
India will play with arch-rivals  Pakistan on 20th and then with Japan on 21st.

16th Nov – Women Hockey Team Lost to Japan 0-3, A Little Setback but they can come up again by performing well in next games on 17th with South Korea.

15th Nov – Beat Hong Kong 7-0

Team Played well and keep the ball in there hands in whole 70 mins here in Aoti Hockey Field Today. In First half of game they were 4-0 and added 3 more goals in second half of the game. It is one of there best start in Asian Games but they need to keep this momentum up by beating Bangladesh and then Pakistan in next two games.
